Egor Vanin (19 years old, 217 cm) will continue to play for our club. The new agreement runs until 2027.
The center joined the Vikings in 2021. He has 100 games for Runa-2 in the VTB United Youth League.
This season, Vanin's averages are 17.9 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game. In October, Egor became MVP of the month in the Youth League.
«I am very happy to extend my agreement with the club. I'm looking forward to my debut in the VTB United League. I worked very hard for this and I think I’m ready», – Vanin commented on the contract extension.
Runa general manager Sergei Yukhnevich noted the importance of this signing for the club.
«The development of players within our system is an important direction in the club’s strategy. We want to see more and more young players with long-term contracts at Runa. We see Egor's potential and believe that he can become a very strong player. But for this he still needs to work a lot on himself. I believe that together we can help each other reach a new level», – Yukhnevich said.
Runa sports director Stanislav Momot also praised Vanin’s prospects at the club.
«Egor has been in the club system for several years, he continues to progress, in October he became MVP of the month in the VTB Youth League. This shows that he is on the right track. The club's long-term plans suggest that it needs to strengthen not only from the external market, but also through its own system. This long-term contract is a very logical step for both the club and the player. Egor is a promising guy with unique talent and skills, so we connect our future with him. Of course, there is still a lot of work ahead, not only in terms of basketball skills, but also mentality. Together we are moving towards ensuring that he can join the main team of our club in the near future, but without haste», – Momot believes.
