Runa coach Nikolai Shmanov completed a 6-day internship in Turkey.
Nikolai met the coaches of Fenerbahçe and Anadolu Efes, and also observed the training process and preparation of the clubs for Euroleague games.
«I managed to make friends and communicate with the assistants of Sarunas Jasikevicius at Fenerbahce. I'm still in touch with one of the assistants. I also met people there that I already knew. For example, Kostas Hatzichristos used to work for CSKA.
It's always useful to see how people work at clubs that compete at the highest level and compare our workflow. Naturally, on such trips you notice new details. Basketball in Europe is becoming more like the NBA, so it's interesting to see how coaches work with star players, for example. I was also able to see how the training process is structured in top clubs, how it is transferred to the game and what work is done to correct mistakes after games.
I am very thankful to our club and our head coach Ertugrul Erdogan for their help in organizing this internship», – Shmanov shared his impressions.
