The Montenegrin guard is playing his first season in the VTB United League and has already become one of the leaders of our team.
In a recent interview with the Serbian portal Meridian Sport, Ivanovic spoke about playing for Runa and life in Moscow.
«We are a young but ambitious team. This year our goal is to reach the playoffs, despite our debut season in the VTB League. It is very important for the club to make a good impression. And our team deserves the playoffs. Runa has a pleasant working atmosphere. I don’t have any personal goal for this season, but I would like to stay in Russia and I’m striving for this.
I understand that my move here after several seasons in the Euroleague may surprise someone. But I am already 30, a lot has changed in my family in recent years, now I have become a father. So, to be honest, my career is now determined by the comfort of my family, our future together. I feel very comfortable in Runa, my family visits me regularly, and now this is more important to me than the status of a Euroleague participant.
We'll see how the second half of the season goes, but I'm very happy to be in Moscow. This is a great city to live and play basketball. When I came here in September, the weather was pleasant and I was able to walk around various beautiful places in this great city. There are many big cities in Russia, but to be honest, after Moscow and St. Petersburg, most of them seem empty», – Ivanovic admitted.
